Today my trainer asked me if I had gone to the face character auditions for CPs yesterday, because some of the other girls from work went.

When I said I didn’t go, she asked why not, and said that I have a beautiful face, and could totally be a face character. :3  My work is awesome.

I have already spent so much money here. This discount is too tempting!

Check-In/Traditions

Hello, everyone!

I’ve been here in Orlando for about a week - and yes, it is incredibly awesome being able to get into the parks for free.  I will tell you one thing though, a person gets pretty disenchanted with buses after a while.

Check-in went well.  It took a long time - several hours - and you find out your information bit by bit, but once it’s out of the way, it’s done, and you can move into your apartment without worrying about anything.

I’ll be working in the Roaring Fork, a quick-service restaurant inside the Wilderness Lodge; I’m really excited.  I don’t start my on-location training until this Tuesday, but you can definitely expect an update once I’ve done it.  I went there a couple days ago on my own time, met someone else on the Program and my manager.  Everyone there was really nice, but the costumes are not the cutest (you can expect a picture, I’m sure).

Now, Traditions, a lot of people say is really boring, but I certainly enjoyed myself.  To be honest, I’m a huge nerd (especially a hige Disney nerd) and so I liked learning about Disney heritage - I even enjoyed hearing about things I already knew about.  Also, there are a couple of surprises embedded into the class, so if you ever become a cast member (and good luck to you!), you have that to look forward to.

Outside of that, I have started my training, though just barely, so I’ll write a new post once I’ve done more of that.  As always, if you have any questions at all, don’t hesitate to ask; I’ll answer them if I can.  And of course, have a magical day!

good luck on your college program. i just got home a week ago from mine. it was beyond amazing. that place really changes you. by the time you get to the end, you will be a completely different person. People told me all this when I started and I didn't believe them.. but it's true. and leaving is the hardest thing in the world. You will meet amazing people there from all over the world that you will never forget. good luck, let me know if you need anything. xx

Thank you so much!  So far, everything has gone well, but it’s been hard.  I left a lot behind.  But my apartment is really nice, my roommates seem good as well, and I’m pleased with my work location (The Roaring Forks at Fort Wilderness Lodge!).  I’m finally pretty much settled in and my welcome session is tomorrow morning.  It’s been a long day, and this bit of encouragement certainly brightened it.  Thank you! :)

My flight to Orlando leaves this afternoon, and then I check in on Monday!

Wish me luck!

Today is Packing Day! I’ll be there in less than a week!

New hair and glasses for Disney!

New hair and glasses for Disney!

I wrote my packing list last night!

It’s really long.  I don’t know how I’m going to fit all that stuff in two suitcases…

A couple of people wanted to know what the “Housing the Magic” videos are.

They’re weekly videos produced by Disney Housing, the people who run the apartments that the College Program interns live in.  They basically just tell you what’s going on for Cast Members in the near future, and show footage of events that they’ve had recently.  I think you can only watch them if you’re already a cast member (working or having been accepted into the Program), but if any of you want to see College Program videos, which tell you about the different roles CPers can have, the various events that are held, and even things like dealing with homesickness, there is a College Program Youtube channel.  It’s http://www.youtube.com/user/DisneyCPInterns!

Lately I’ve been kind of obsessed with the “Housing the Magic” videos.

Does anyone else watch them?
